Postcard view of Hide Hill, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, nd. [c.1950] Ref: NRO 05192/11
Our branch office, Berwick-upon-Tweed Record Office, was established in 1980, initially to provide access to the historic archives of the town. The service has developed and now holds a range of records relating to the geographical area served by the pre-2009 Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Borough extended from Berwick, south to Ellingham and Beadnell, west to Ingram and north to Carham on the River Tweed. Our online catalogue includes textual descriptions of records held at both service points – Berwick and Woodhorn.
Berwick-upon-Tweed Record Office has a Friends organisation, The Friends of Berwick District Museum and Archives – Friends of Berwick and District Museum and Archives (berwickfriends.org.uk). This is a membership organisation.
