Frank Wood is best known for his watercolours but he also did some work in oil. He exhibited widely from 1889 onwards, with work by him appearing regularly in the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Society of Watercolourists, the Laing in Newcastle and the Glasgow Institute of Fine Art. Only once though was he selected to show at the Royal Academy, in 1902.
