Weekly accounts were kept of all the money paid out in the construction of the bridge. This included the names of all those paid and their trades. James Burrell was the overall Surveyor of the whole project and during the week 15 to 22 February 1611/2, he was paid 15 shillings. John Shell was the Clerk for the project and was paid 8 shillings for 6 days work. Other people who were employed that week included masons, smiths, quarrymen and labourers. For example, Thomas Blythe, a mason was paid 6 shillings for 6 days work, whilst Thomas Bell, a labourer was paid 3 shillings for 6 days work. That week, in addition to the payments for workers, George Crawforth and his workers were paid 10 shillings for the carriage of stone and Thomas Frudd was paid 4 shillings for mending two small boats.
