This module aims to give an overview of the main classes of records held by Northumberland Archives that may be useful to a researcher with an interest in property history. It is not an exhaustive overview and there are other records that may for example be unique to a particular geographical area. References to some of these records can be picked up in our electronic catalogue. Northumberland Archives staff are very knowledgeable about sources and are always pleased to advise.
Hexham Abbey Heritage Group
Hexham Abbey has an active heritage group. The group documents artefacts and records relating to the history of the Abbey. Some of the items in the town relate to the wider town. Many of the items in their care are listed in an online catalogue – Hexham Abbey Heritage.
Hexham Library
