Volunteer Groups

There are currently four groups working on the manorial project: The Newcastle Group, which consists of members from the Society of Antiquities (SANT) and Explore groups in Newcastle-upon-Tyne; The Allendale Group, which consists of members from the Allen Valleys Local History Group; The Hexham Group which includes members from Hexham Local History Society (HLHS); and a group in Berwick-upon-Tweed, which includes local volunteers from Berwick and surrounding towns. 

Our friendly group of volunteers have worked to transcribe manorial records from historic manors in their local areas. All the manorial transcripts you’ll find on this website have been completed by these wonderful volunteers.
