Treasures from the Northumberland Archives
Introduction

The collections held by Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn and at Berwick-upon-Tweed tell the story of the people and places of Northumberland, and in some cases beyond, over a period of more then 800 years. We have put together this online exhibition to highlight the breadth and depth of our collections and to show the influence that the county and its people have had locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Each treasure was selected by a member of our team and together they represent a sample of content from over 10,000 collections in our care. We hope that you enjoy exploring this content and that it tempts you to investigate our collections further, either by making a personal visit to our searchrooms or browsing our online catalogue.
